This is the resistance symbol for #Revolution2025: The “R” has a target at its heart, and inside that, a bloom/butterfly made from a series of different colored hearts. It means our aim is clear: growth and change through love together. We resist to bloom and grow in unity. If you see this symbol, you are safe with us no matter who you are.
Origin Story
Reshaping realities through art resonates as a recurrent part of my reflective therapy practice. Regularly, I rely on a range of creative mediums to reveal and process the relentless and raw realities that rattle me deeply.
When the Tyrant rose to power, rendering him the ruler of the realm, I reeled in dismay and dread. Witnessing so many readily resign to compliance and relinquish resistance rattled my resolve.
During these dark times, as mass chaos runs rampant in the world, I felt there needed to be a new a symbol of hope. Something that would express a united voice, in the messages we share, through art and freedom of expression.
Reflecting on renowned symbols of rebellion and resilience, I resolved to render graphics that radiated our values.
Ultimately, I refined a representation: a radiant butterfly, rooted in hearts, representing renewal and transformation through love.
It rests within a ring resembling a target, reposed in the letter R.
It is our symbol.
A symbol of Hope.
A symbol of Love.
A symbol of Unity.
A symbol of Resistance.
A symbol of Rebellion.
A symbol of Solidarity.
A symbol of Freedom.
Our focus remains resolute on making the world a better and safer place than we received it.
We will remember the injustices and discrimination.
We will take action to make positive change by making our collective voice heard.
